 Ben Allen</strong> is Executive Director of Better
  Ballot Iowa. His professional background is roote
 d in the publishing industry as a project manager 
 and departmental lead\, creating photo-heavy infor
 mational and instructional books within the home i
 mprovement\, home design\, decorating\, and garden
 ing subject areas. Ben's stint at Meredith Corpora
 tion saw him help create more than 100 books for t
 he Better Homes and Gardens\, Ortho\, The Home Dep
 ot\, Stanley\, Miracle-Gro\, and Scotts brands\, a
 mong others.</span></p>\n \n <p><span style="font-
 family:Arial\, Helvetica\, sans-serif\;">Ben has l
 ong served with non-profit organizations to help i
 mprove the community in which he lives with terms 
 on the boards of the ACLU of Iowa\,  Metro Arts Al
 liance\, and Master Gardeners of Polk County. He a
 lso volunteers with Iowa Citizens for Community Im
 provement.</span></p>\n \n <p><span style="font-fa

 er's degree in Journalism from the University of K
 ansas (go Jayhawks!)\, an MBA from Iowa State Univ

  often confused on who to root for at sporting eve
 nts. He lives in Des Moines with his wife\, Margue
 rite “Peggy” Fitch\, and two spoiled cats named Ch
