Rachel Paine Caufield, Co-Chair of the Department of Political Science at Drake University, will break it all down and share her analysis of the 2024 elections and the impact on our nation and state. ABOUT OUR PRESENTER: Rachel Paine Caufield is a Professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Political Science at Drake University.  She also serves as the Co-Executive Director of the Olson Institute for Public Democracy and the Director of the Iowa Caucus Project. Rachel received her PhD in Political Science from The George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) with specializations in American politics, political institutions, and research methodology and received her BA in Political Science and Mathematics from Hood College (Frederick, MD). Since arriving at Drake in 2001, she spent ten years as a Research Fellow at the American Judicature Society and three years as Assistant Director for Public Engagement at the Harkin Institute. Prior to coming to Drake, Rachel was a Research Fellow with The Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. She’s an avid devotee of the Iowa caucuses and is passionate about encouraging student participation in the political environment, leading student travel seminars to the Democratic and Republican National Conventions and four presidential inauguration ceremonies, coordinating media events, national debates, and candidate visits on campus, and implementing programs to encourage voter registration and turnout, for which Drake has earned several national awards.

 

Crossroads is a monthly gathering of the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa in Des Moines. It's an opportunity to learn, to participate in civil dialogue, and to discuss issues at the crossroads of religion and politics.
