What is the current legal status of abortion care in Iowa and how have last year's restrictions impacted clinics around the state? Francine Thompson, Executive Director of the Emma Goldman Clinic (EGC), will explain the services offered by the EGC, their philosophy of care, and history. She will also share the challenges and successes during her tenure of 38 years as an administrator at EGC.

ABOUT OUR PRESENTER | Francine Thompson is the Executive Director of the Emma Goldman Clinic in Iowa City, Iowa. Her 37 years as an administrator of an independent, not for profit, feminist health care clinic that provides abortion care has given her extensive experience in reproductive health care management. Francine's passionate and committed leadership is guided by a service delivery philosophy that is empowering and client focused. She is also strongly motivated to provide a working environment that is diverse, dynamic, and engaging.
Francine's years of experience have included guiding and navigating the Emma Goldman clinic through numerous threats to abortion access while working to expand access to reproductive health care and LGBTQ care. She continues to be challenged and motivated with the unending assaults within the reproductive justice and abortion care movement. Her passion includes training students and volunteers and the next generation of feminist, health care providers and activists.
