Working Together to Ensure Voting Access

Voter disenfranchisement is woven deeply into the fabric of our nation’s history. Over the last couple years, voting and challenges to voter access have been debated widely and in the news a lot. A broad coalition of organizations in Linn County have been working together to ensure voters are educated on the changes in Iowa law that impact access to voting. Additionally, the coalition is working to empower every adult who is eligible to register and to vote. Join the Intersections conversation in person or online. Learn about the issues, the changes to voting laws, the coalition’s work, and how you can be part of the solution to help others to have access to voting.

Intersections is back in person! We are excited to see everyone again at Intersections in Cedar Rapids for the first in-person program in two years! Some things to know and do:

• ATTEND IN PERSON: We need your reservation for in person so we know how many chairs to have set up. Please register for IN PERSON.
• WATCH ON YOUTUBE: We will also livestream the event for folks who prefer that option or anyone outside the Cedar Rapids area. Please register to receive the online link and WATCH ONLINE.
• No lunch served: We will not be serving lunch for April or May but you are welcome to bring your own lunch. Coffee and water will be available.
• No cost: Since we aren’t serving lunch, there is no cost to attend Intersections in April or May.
• Masks are optional: The church currently has a mask-optional policy. We encourage those attending in person to wear a mask when they are not eating.

Intersections is a monthly gathering of the Interfaith Alliance of Iowa in Cedar Rapids. It's an opportunity to learn, to participate in civil dialogue, and to discuss issues at the intersection of religion and politics.
